Previously I mentioned that as a business we've decided to support St. Nicolas Orphanage in Bulgaria this year and that some of the team here have agreed to carry out the 3-peak challenge in Yorkshire, to raise some much needed funds for St. Nicolas. The team consists of a range of abilities and ages, they oldest being close to 60, but I let you spot who that is.
Over the past few weeks, some of the keener (or perhaps less fit) members of the team have been practicing for the challenge. Activities have included the staircase at Paddington Station, but also weekend walks around Hampstead Heath. The actual challenge covers 25 miles of intensive hiking, including climbing up (and down), the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Seb has created a website dedicated to the challenge, where you can find out a bit more about both the 3-Peaks and also St. Nicolas orphanage. We're currently on schedule to hit the Yorkshire Peaks on the 29th of May. So, if you fancy donating the odd pound, not only would we appreciate it, but so would the children in Bulgaria. |
