In this short video, Ian Jarvis our Technical Director talks about the idea behind the introduction of a single electronic patient record for all patients living in the U.K. and how ThinkShield are using Cloud Computing within the NHS to support its introduction. Ian suggests that the original idea behind the single electronic record was a good one, although its implementation has not been fantastic. He talks about how ThinkShield as a company are working with NHS Trusts to deliver a single patient record solution, specifically at a micro level within Trusts, but potentially on a much larger scale too. In the video Ian goes on to talk about how as a company we are making use of the Cloud Computing style of technology to enable clinicians anywhere in a hospital or Trust to gain access to patient demographic data, radiology data or pathology data, where ever they need it, when ever they need it and from the device of choice. That could be from a desktop, laptop, iPhone, mobile device, iPad or tablet P.C. He explains how Cloud Computing enables clinicians that run community based cardiovascular disease prevention programmes and other chronic disease prevention programmes, to get hold of the patient data they need by plugging into the Cloud.
